The union effort at MAM is part of a large wave of art museums union organizing that is sweeping across the country. There are many examples of museums which have had collective bargaining relationships with their workers for many years. MAM workers are not alone in their desire for a voice in how their institutions are run and who want a say in how workplace policies are cafted and carried out.
